BARONESS VON KOHORN
Baroness von Kohorn zu Kornegg was born in Ireland and raised in England. The Baroness has enjoyed a life of refined elegance mixed with international business and travel. She is an inspiration to all women, young and older. She speaks of seeking the beauty and quality in everything, a passionate lady with a heart of gold, always thinking of others first. ‘Consideration to Others’ are words you will hear her frequently say.
The Baroness, continues many activities on behalf of charities, supporting causes as diverse as the arts, children’s issues, and children with Aids. She is an accomplished public speaker, radio program host, Le Cordon Bleu trained, a corporate educator, fashion and beauty entrepreneur and television personality.
After a successful career as a management consultant, the Baroness applied her business and advisory skills to helping many brands establish their success in the European markets. She is a regular judge at UK – China Entrepreneurial awards. Baroness is also a regular speaker and presenter at the China UK Film awards and represents leading Chinese artists and professional photographic associations to the UK market and has hosted exhibitions for the highest ranked Chinese artists at The British Museum, exclusive hotels and other beautiful venues.
She founded The Institute of British Culture as a bridge between China and the United Kingdom for culture, education and commerce and has been asked to represent and promote several Chinese provinces to the United Kingdom. Baroness has been invited to China on several occasions to teach western style and culture to Women’s organisations and to executives from leading Chinese corporations.
Some of the Baroness’ other achievements include:
- Provided training and certification to Japanese business people in British Royal Manners and Etiquette. This intensive course was delivered over 14 days to many groups of Japanese professionals with examination pass requirements.
- Founded Australia’s first independent finishing school in Australia.
- Guest presenter on the number one morning TV program “The Today Show”
- Co-hosted “Food Talk”, a popular radio program in Australia.
- Regular guest on the Alan Jones Show, Australia’s number one national, talk-back radio program.
- Established Australia’s “Making the Most of The Real You”, a seminar series conducted to assist young people and “The Protocol Series” to assist Executives who conducted business on a global network.
- Baroness conceived and hosted “The Olympic Gift”, bringing the twin Olympic cities of Barcelona and Sydney together to build cultural awareness and promote trade and tourism opportunities. Attended by The Premier, state and national ministers, diplomats and trade officials from both countries and many of Australia’s leading social and commercial identities, all attended as the result of the Baroness’ personal invitation.
- Founded “The World Etiquette Club” a private online training and membership resource for her seminar attendees and the general public to use to continually learn more about etiquette and international protocol.
- Baroness has been invited by the Diplomatic community to create and personally host a television program called “Embassy Dinners” which will take viewers behind the Embassy doors to meet the Ambassador and their spouse, learn more about their country, their culture and to see the preparation of an Embassy dinner. This program is currently being written.
- The Baroness is currently writing her first book in a series of books on Global Etiquette scheduled for release in 2023.
- The Baroness is a Cordon Bleu qualified cook and has prepared meals with world famous Michelin Chefs.
- The Baroness has conducted cooking and wine appreciation lessons for large corporations as team bonding exercises, an idea she believed was vital in today’s global marketplace, to create the success of any organisation to create employee confidence and loyalty.
- Hosted a one day training seminar on ‘Western Business Etiquette’ for TenCent Corporation executives at her home and after her course she was invited to China by these young executives to train more TenCent employees.
- Invited each year by the UK China Entrepreneur Association to sit on the judging panel of the CTC Entrepreneurship and Investment award competition at the London South Bank University.
- Hosted three day Little Princess course for Chengdu summer camps.
- News on line telephone interview with wasu.cn regarding Chinese President Xi JinPing’s visit to the United Kingdom. Topic discussions on Preparations by H.M The Queen to host a state banquet for the Chinese Leader.
- Baroness was invited by CCTV to produce a short film about Chinese families celebrating Chinese New Year in the UK. The filming took place at Baroness’s home and village. The highlight was Baroness prepared and cooked Peking Goose for twenty eight guests. The geese, two, were bought from the local goose farm. Fascinating story.
- Presented the Best Supporting Actress at the China UK Film awards London

Baroness is famous for her words… “Etiquette is Power” as she teaches the truth, that an understanding of each country’s culture opens the doors to mutual trust and respect, as well as confidence in social or business situations. She has personally taught international culture to many thousands of successful people including executive staff from Tencent Holdings, the company that owns WeChat and other leading Chinese technologies.
Baroness is currently planning the launch of her exclusive, luxury brand, accessories, and skin care brand which will introduce an exquisite range of environmentally sustainable and beautifully designed products for discerning buyers and collectors in China and worldwide. She has personally designed each item in the range and has already won a Chinese design award for her design innovation and creativity.


As Chengdu’s Ambassador for International Fashion, Baroness will bring valuable experience, contacts and organisational skills to the existing team and will be able to open doors and create awareness of the beautiful and timeless elegance of Chengdu fashion and culture.
Baroness has been married to Baron von Kohorn zu Kornegg, a European aristocrat, for 34 years. Throughout their long, successful marriage they have maintained a careful balance between work and leisure and hold each other in trust and mutual respect for their independent and joint commercial achievements.
Baroness von Kohorn is very pleased to be invited to serve as Chengdu’s Ambassador of International Fashion and looks forward to meeting many of the team throughout this year’s event preparations and contributing to Chengdu fashion awareness in England, Europe and internationally in 2022 and future years.


Baroness Anette Josephine von Kohorn zuKornegg

The von Kohorn history spans many centuries, many countries and the lives of many great men of civil, ecclesiastical or military importance. As such, their lives were researched and documented by various genealogists and government record keepers and museums.
As the von Kohorn ancestors spread throughout Europe, language, cultural and writing issues required the name to be altered, our family name changed from Coehoorn to Cohorne then to Cohorn and Kuhorn and finally to Kohorn and von Kohorn as it is today.
The French documentary records for the official biography our ancestor, General Louis Jacques, Baron de Cohorne show that our ancestry is traced back to Eric Cohorn, a member of the court of the Swedish Royal family of Olof Skoetkonungs, king of Sweden (990-1022)
Frederic-Toussaint Cohorn was a Royal Swedish Counsellor for Finance in the 13th Century
His descendent Troussaint Cohorn was a Swedish Cavalry General whose son, Christian-Frederic became Governor of Uppsala in 1473.
Pierre Cohorn was Chamberlain and General of Troops under King Christian of Sweden. He was famous as a General and his tomb is still preserved as a historical relic at the Church of the Recollets in Montfavet.

General Louis Jacques became famous as a great General during the Napoleonic wars. He served under King Louis XVI until 1792, then under the Revolutionary Assembly until 1795 and finally under Emperor Napoleon 1 until his death in 1813.
His ancestor , Eric Christian Cohorn in 1300 was a member of the Swedish Parliament.
Jacob Walther Coehorn was knighted in 1502 by Emperor Maximillian and made Procurator in Mainz.
Christian Frederik Cohorn was Governor of Upsala under King Christophorus. The Cohorns held high civil and military office for centuries under many Swedish rulers until Menno Karl Coehoorn established himself in Holland (and changed the spelling of the surname to suit his new homeland.
His son Baron Menno van Coehoorn became the grand-bailiff of Leerdam and deputy of Fieslandand was born in 1641 and died in 1704. He was a very famous General and brilliant military strategist.
Joseph Louis de Cohorn 1670-1748 was Bishop of Vaison la Romaine.
Thomas de Cohorn born in 1690 was made the Marquis de Paulun.
Descended from him was General Louis Jacques, Baron of the Empire was born in 1734 and died in 1781 as commander of the Strasburg Garrison.
In 1770, Jean Jacques de Coehorn was raised to the nobility as Baron in Strasbourg, He was a Knight of the Military Order of Merit and commanding Colonel of the Dragoons of the Legion de Conde’.
William 1, Prince of Orange also bestowed the title of Baron upon our Dutch ancestor, Jan Philip de Girard de Mielet van Coehoorn.
With the move from Holland to Germany the spelling of the Dutch name Cohorn was finally changed to Kohorn and so the full name became von Kohorn
In 1918, the Duke of Saxony-Coburg-Gotha also bestowed the title of Baron upon the Baroness’ husband’s Grandfather Baron Oscar von Kohorn with the further suffix zuKorneggwhich is the highest level of the three tiers of German baronies.
Baron Oscar von Kohorn zuKornegg was a successful industrialist with businesses in 52 countries and over 200 American patents for his inventions.
During his life he was also awarded many other award and titles.

Baron Oscar von Kohorn’s son, Baron Ralph von Kohorn zuKornegg’s wife, Baroness Jillian von Kohorn zuKornegg established the Academy of Elegance Finishing School 52 years ago and, Baroness Anette von Kohorn zuKornegg has continued that tradition for over 25 years.
Baroness Anette von Kohorn zuKornegg is an acknowledged expert on the subject of British Royal Manners and the traditions of the British Aristocracy. The Baroness is a Cordon Bleu trained cook and hosted her own Radio program as well as regular appearances on national television.
The Baroness has been teaching British etiquette and protocol to Asian business people and social leaders for 20 years. Her courses include courses for ‘Little Princesses’, for brides and new wives, for business ladies and for high net worth individuals who wish to learn the art and social rules of fine British manners.
The Baroness will accept invitations to fly to Asian cities to provide seminars or personal tuition to high net worth individuals, television or radio appearances as well as advising protocol and decorum for official events or occasions.
